is regularly prefix to the preposition bê and to certain nouns, especially nouns of place, to form compound prepositions;
the noun governed by a compound preposition is not linked to it by îzafe (y2);
such compound prepositions are however sometimes resolved into preposition phrases with îzafe, and, conversely, îzafe is sometimes omitted from a more usual phrase to form a compound preposition not included in the list below
